Strive to live in peace with everybody and pursue that consecration and HOLINESS without which no one will ever see the Lord. Exercise foresight and be on the watch to look to see that you do not fall back from and fail to secure God's grace, which is His unmerited favor and spiritual blessing. We know this scripture better as … Follow peace with all men, and HOLINESS, without which no man shall see the Lord: Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God. (Hebrews 12:12-13a) In these verses we hear the “follow peace” but do we hear the “follow HOLINESS, without which no one will see the Lord?”

This has been said before but bears saying again - HOLINESS is more that long skirts; suits and ties; limited make-up, heels and toes in, stockings, shirts and ties, no dips and splits. HOLINES is more than just a word. HOLINESS is a life style. HOLINESS is a way of life, a way of living. Yes, the Word of God tells us – come as you are to the accepting of His grace and mercy but after accepting Him and His HOLINESS, He tells us, be ye holy as He is holy. The Word tells us to put off and it tells us to put on. It tells us to put a difference between holy and unholy and to put a difference between clean and unclean. It tells us to follow HOLINESS. Today it’s time to position ourselves in HOLINESS; time to walk the walk we talk; time to live the life we sing and talk about.

(Psalms 32)

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven. Praise God for forgiveness, and His longsuffering and His patience. Praise God that He has thrown them into the sea of forgetfulness. Whose sin is covered. How blessed we are to be covered by the blood of Jesus! I acknowledge my sin unto Thee All have sinned and come very, very short of the glory of God. That’s the Word of God and we must stand on it. .And mine iniquity have I not hid. And that’s a good thing because everything done in secret is coming to the light anyway. I said I will confess my transgressions unto the Lord; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found. Everyone, all who are receiving the holy Word of God, should pray now while He may be found. Surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto Him. Thou art my hiding place, thou shalt preserve me from trouble. Thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. When we really understand this Word about His delivering power and have accepted His deliverance we can know that He will preserve, save, and keep us from - or at the least, in the times of trouble. And I know this to be true because He is my Heavenly Father!

When my children were young and we were at Tolliver Temple Church of God in Christ, I sang in the choir and so did my husband. While we were in the choir stand my children sat, and with my instructions, sat attentively. But there were times when their actions strayed and their minds wondered and sometimes even their bodies moved - a lot. They were walking around, they were talking, they were eating candy, they were playing. Oh, but when I caught their eyes. I had such a close relationship with my children that they really knew me. They knew my body language; they knew my facial expressions; they knew my eyes. They knew me so well that they did exactly what my eyes said to do and they followed all of the instructions and directions of my eyes.

Well, look at Psalms 32:8 as it speaks about His relationship with me as His child: I The Lord our God. Will instruct thee and teach thee God, my Father, my Parent, will teach me, God will instruct me. In the way which thou shalt go God will tell me how to go in and out before His people. God will tell me how to be obedient in all conversation—in all of my daily deportment. And God says, I will guide thee with mine eye. When we seek Him; when we seek His total will for our lives; when we seek His face, then we are positioning ourselves to truly know him. When we know Him we will know His ways and we will know His expression—His eyes.

Just as my relationship with my children was such that they really knew me and my body language and my facial expressions - they knew my eyes. Just as they did exactly what my eyes said to do and they followed all of the instructions and directions of my eyes, if we truly learn to know Him, He will be able to guide, and to teach, and to instruct, with His expression, with His look, with His eye. The Word does not say eyes but eye. I might need both eyes for my child to understand my facial directions but God is God and He will guide, direct, instruct and lead me with His eye. He desires to always be the One, the only One, who can instruct and teach us the way we are to go. We are to go only according to His will.

Now, how do we know what His will is? How do we know what His instructions to each of us are? We know through His manservant: He has given us pastors after His own heart; though hearing His Word taught and preached; through studying His Word; and through meditating on His Word. When there is a challenge that we are facing, we can’t look at the challenge using our natural eyes—we must look through His lenses and allow Him to guide us safely with His eye.

(Romans 6:1-12)

What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound? God forbid. How shall we, that are dead to sin, live any longer therein? Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. For he that is dead is freed from sin. Now if we be dead with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him: Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more; death hath no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also yourselves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord. Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.

Get right, Saints, and let’s go home. That’s what the song says. We have to know that unless we do get right, Heaven will not be our home.

(Matthew 7:18-23)

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them. Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. We, as Saints of the Most High God, must follow HOLINESS.

Now, a word to those who are not, yet, called by His name; those who have not asked Him into their lives, yet; those who have not accepted His grace and mercy, yet. It is not God’s will that any perish and He loves you so much that He drew you to hear this Word from Him to you. God loves you. His grace and His mercy is sure. He is longsuffering, full of compassion, and gracious. But the Word also tells you that there will come a time when He will laugh at you in your calamity and that is because you have turned away so often and turned your back on Him as He called to you. There will come a time when His longsuffering will end. There will come a time when His grace and His mercy will stop. There will come a time when He will come back for His Saints and for His Saints only. Jesus Christ wants to connect with you, now. In fact, He's standing at the door of your heart knocking, just waiting for you to answer and invite Him in. He wants to change your heart. He wants to give you the gift of salvation and eternal life.

His Word says in Romans, For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. And it says - For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Take advantage of this time right now. If you confess with your mouth, 'Jesus is Lord,' and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. Confess your sins – to Him. Ask His forgiveness. Ask Him into your heart. Live for Him.

God’s Word says - Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God. Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

Obey God’s Word, do God’s will, follow God’s eye. HOLINESS is more than just a word! HOLINESS is a demand from our Creator.
